FEATURED PROJECTS
THE EMPOWERING WOMEN WITH DIGNITY PROJECT
Gender inequality and widespread early marriage combined with difficulty accessing higher education means women in Liberia struggle to improve their economic conditions. The Church of the Nazarene in Monrovia realized that by teaching women, lives would be changed. The vocational classes run through the Empowering Women With Dignity project offer women opportunities to improve their economic conditions, uplift their families and communities, and affirm their God-given dignity.
SHECHEM CHILDREN’S HOME
The Shechem Children’s Home is a short-term assessment center for children survivors of online sexual exploitation of children. This is a form of human trafficking where images or videos of children performing sexual acts are sold over the internet. The trauma-informed care provided by the home’s therapists, doctors, house parents, and social workers helps children begin to heal from abuse and find hope for a new future.
COVID-19
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the compassionate response of local Nazarene churches has been vital. Between food and income assistance, mental health support, hygiene education, supply distribution, and spiritual care, people struggling due to the pandemic are finding out they are not alone. So far, nearly 400,000 people have been served by COVID-19 ministries.

Zambia Food Security
This food security project, in partnership with Growing Hope Globally, assists small scale farmers with education and support to improve their crop production and family income.
Bata Explosion Response
To support people displaced by the large explosion in Bata, Equatorial Guinea, in March of 2021, the local church has provided weekly food packs, water, clothing, and supplies.
Venezuela Pig and Chicken Farming
This economic development project provides chickens and pigs for individuals and families to raise and sell at reasonable rates to the community, increasing their income and providing a source of food for their neighbors.
COURAGE FOR THE JOURNEY
This refugee and immigrant support project connects local churches in the Baltic area of Europe with refugees. Through it, people on the move receive care through food and supply distributions, language lessons, and assistance with transportation or medical needs.
Middle East Schools
In the three Nazarene schools for children and teenagers in the Middle East, a quality education is coupled with vital physical, spiritual, psychological, and social support. Many children who attend are refugees, and school is their safe place to process past trauma and begin to heal.
Integrated Community Health
This project addresses the need for clean water along with access to health care in communities in Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, and Zambia. By linking local clinics, volunteers, and churches to execute the project’s goals, the health of vulnerable community members is elevated.
