When Plans Changed
Through the 2025 Christmas Project, individuals and churches helped support Nazarene schools in Lebanon and Jordan, creating spaces where children could learn, grow, and experience care within the life of the church.
In recent months, increased conflict has changed daily life across the region. In Lebanon, many families have been displaced, schools have faced disruptions, and communities are navigating fear and uncertainty. In Jordan, while daily life continues in many ways, the effects of regional conflict are still felt by students and families.
This is not what we had hoped for. And yet, thanks to great generosity, these schools and churches were already in place and ready to respond.
The Church in Action
Across Lebanon and Jordan, churches and school communities are caring for children and families in the midst of disruption. In Lebanon, Nazarene churches, a school, and a medical clinic are supporting displaced families with food, essential supplies, and medical care. Ministries are working together to meet urgent needs with dignity while continuing to walk alongside families through fear and uncertainty.
In Jordan, schools continue to provide stability and care for students, offering a consistent place to learn and be supported while churches encourage and pray with families as they navigate an uncertain season.
“In times like these, I am always amazed by our churches in the Middle East and their courage, selflessness, and compassion towards those around them...” said Tim Bowen-Evans, Eurasia NCM Coordinator. “It is wonderful to be part of a global church that can join hands in providing essential humanitarian support through local churches.”
