2025 PROGRAM UPDATE:
WATER ACCESS, SANITATION, HYGIENE
Transforming Communities Through Clean Water and Sanitation
Clean water is essential for health and dignity. Yet in many communities, limited access to safe water and sanitation complicates daily life and exposes people to preventable diseases.
In India, a Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project supported by local Nazarene churches is transforming life in five villages. The project addresses critical needs such as waste management, drainage maintenance, and hygiene education. Volunteer teams have installed community waste bins to improve sanitation infrastructure—updates that immediately enhance well-being. In addition, health and hygiene education sessions are empowering residents with the knowledge to sustain healthier practices for the future.
The Result of Compassion:

Stories of Change

In Hunsanahalli, the sanitation and hygiene awareness program made a lasting impact. The community began using the newly installed trash bins, which have become a symbol of change. One local leader has seen the positive change. “The bins are useful to everyone in the village. It feels good to see that people are becoming more responsible,” she said.
In Kanivekallu, drainage cleaning brought immediate results. One resident saw a significant improvement. “Before the cleaning, the area in front of my house was constantly dirty. But after the drainage was cleared, things began to shift. The area is clean, the insects are gone, and our health seems better,” he shared.
